πŸ“– About Berrara Beach

Berrara is a small community of 600 that extends for 2 km along the coast between the southern shores and inlet of Swan Lake and the bluffs above Berrara Creek. The settlement is bordered by three beaches (NSW 453-454) (Fig. 4.345). The northern Berrara beach (NSW 452) is located between two eastward protruding rocks reefs, the northern adjacent to the usually blocked mouth of Swan Lake. The beach curves to the southwest for 750 m, with a small reef also crossing the northern section. The reefs lower waves to about 1 m, which maintain a low tide terrace along the main open section with permanent rips between the northern reefs and against the southern rocks. The beach is accessible from a car park at the Swan Lake entrance and adjoining blufftop caravan park, and another on the southern bluffs, which has steps down to the beach.
