๐ About Cable Beach
Cable Beach is a breathtaking 22-kilometre sweep of powdery white sand fronting the Indian Ocean just 4 km west of Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Named after a telegraph cable laid between Broome and Java in 1889, it is famous for its vivid ochre cliffs, legendary blood-red sunsets, camel rides along the waterline, and the seasonal spectacle of migrating humpback whales. The gentle dry-season surf and shallow gradient make it ideal for families and swimmers, while dinosaur footprints estimated at 130 million years old can be spotted in the rocks near Gantheaume Point at low tide.
