Cloudy Bay Beach is a long, exposed surf beach on the southern tip of Bruny Island, regarded as one of Tasmania's best surf spots with consistent left and right breaks best in a north wind with a south swell. The northern end attracts surfers making the ferry trip from Hobart, while the southern stretches offer wild, uncrowded coastline backed by untouched wilderness. Swimmers should be cautious of strong rips and the beach hosts the annual Bruny Island Classic surfing competition.
