π About East Beach
East Beach is a long, exposed surf beach at Low Head in northern Tasmania, near the mouth of the Tamar River. Facing westerly swells, it offers solid surf conditions with an intertidal bar and occasional rips, and is the closest surfing beach to Georgetown and Launceston. A caravan park and car park at the western end provide easy access, though swimmers should take care due to its moderate hazard rating.
