Glenaire East is a wild, exposed ocean beach near Johanna on the Great Ocean Road, tucked between Castle Cove and the Aire River mouth in the Otway hinterland. Powerful Southern Ocean swells make it a challenging break favoured by experienced surfers, while its dramatic cliff-framed scenery draws photographers and walkers doing the Great Ocean Walk. The beach is remote and unpatrolled, best visited by those comfortable with unpredictable surf conditions.
