Gunnamatta Beach is a raw, windswept ocean beach on the Southern Ocean–facing tip of Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, near the village of Rye. Known for its powerful swells, unpredictable rips, and dramatic coastline, it is a magnet for experienced surfers but is generally considered unsafe for swimming without patrolling. The wild, unspoilt landscape and expansive sands make it a spectacular spot for scenic walks and watching surfers tackle serious waves.
