Lillico Beach is a north-facing sandy beach on the outskirts of Devonport in northern Tasmania, best known as home to one of the state's most accessible Little Penguin (fairy penguin) colonies. Each evening at dusk, penguins waddle ashore from Bass Strait to return to their burrows, and a dedicated viewing platform allows visitors to watch this enchanting spectacle up close. Beyond the penguins, the beach is a pleasant spot for walking and taking in views across the Strait, and its proximity to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal makes it an easy first or last stop for visitors arriving by sea.
