📖 About Platypus Bay
Platypus Bay is a remote, sheltered bay on the western side of K'gari (Fraser Island), recognised as part of the world's first Whale Heritage Site. From June to October, humpback whales frequently frolic in its calm, shallow waters just offshore, making it a remarkable wildlife spectacle. Accessible only by 4WD or boat, it suits adventurers, wildlife lovers, and keen anglers after a genuinely off-the-beaten-track experience.
