๐Ÿ“– About Point Vernon

Point Vernon is a calm coastal suburb of Hervey Bay, home to the largest rocky headland between Noosa and Bundaberg, with a sheltered beach and tidal rock pools to explore. The beach at Gatakers Bay is excellent for snorkelling, with healthy reef and abundant marine life visible in the clear water, while off-leash dog walking areas and scenic esplanade trails make it popular with locals. It also serves as the western starting point of the 16km Hervey Bay Esplanade Trail with sweeping views across the Great Sandy Straits towards K'gari (Fraser Island).
