📖 About Saltworks Beach
Saltworks Beach takes its name from the 19th-century salt-harvesting operations that once ran along this quiet stretch of Tasmanian coastline near Rokeby, on the eastern shore of the Derwent estuary south of Hobart. Today it's a peaceful and largely undiscovered spot, popular with local walkers, anglers, and birdwatchers who come for the estuary views and the sense of solitude. The calm, sheltered water and historic character make it a rewarding detour for those who prefer their beaches a little off the beaten track.
