Sandy Point is a long, sweeping beach on Waratah Bay in South Gippsland, sheltered from the open Southern Ocean by Wilsons Promontory to the east. The shallow, warm waters and gentle surf make it one of the most family-friendly beaches in Gippsland, and its relative remoteness keeps it refreshingly uncrowded even at the height of summer. The beach is framed by spectacular views of the Prom's rugged mountain ranges rising dramatically from the sea, making it as scenic as it is swimmable.
