📖 About South Waddy Beach

South Waddy Beach is a stretch of K'gari's (Fraser Island's) magnificent eastern ocean beach, part of the world's largest sand island and a UNESCO World Heritage Area about 200 kilometres north of Brisbane off Queensland's Coral Coast. The eastern beach of K'gari stretches for 75 miles of uninterrupted sand along the Coral Sea, driven by powerful surf and backed by ancient coloured sand cliffs, freshwater lakes, and dense rainforest growing directly from sand — a geological phenomenon found nowhere else on Earth. Access requires a 4WD vehicle via barge, and the beach suits adventurous travellers who come for the island's extraordinary landscapes, fishing, whale watching, and dingo sightings.
