📖 About Yellow Rock Beach
Yellow Rock Beach is a pristine, remote stretch of golden sand on the west coast of King Island in Bass Strait, accessed via a gravel road about 28 km north of Currie and a short walk over a sandy headland. The beach sits on Phoques Bay and is notable for its dramatic rocky cliffs, freshwater gullies, and the rusting remains of the 1906 paddle steamer wreck of The Shannon. It suits adventurous beachcombers and history enthusiasts who appreciate wild, undeveloped coastline with exceptional marine biodiversity.
