π About Cabbage Tree Beach
Figtree Inlet (NSW 416) lies 1 km to the north and is a 110 m long northwest-facing patch of sand, bordered and partly fronted by rocks, with seagrass growing to within 20 m of the shore. A straight 450 m long section of northwest-facing rocky shore separates it from the base of Long Beach (NSW 417). This 1.8 km long white sandy beach curves to the north then northwest to 20 m high Montague Point (Fig. 4.333). It receives low refracted swell, which maintains a low gradient cusped reflective beach, with seagrass lying between 50-150 m offshore. A car park is located behind the northern end of the beach. On the northern side of the point is Cabbage Tree Beach (NSW 418), which curves to the northwest for 350 m between the point and northern Cabbage Tree Point. Rock outcrops dominate the ends and southern section of the beach, with only the northern section free of rocks. A car park is located behind the centre of the beach.
