Carrum Beach is a pleasant suburban beach on the eastern shores of Port Phillip Bay, located about 33 km south-east of Melbourne's CBD near the mouth of the Patterson River. The sheltered bay waters make it calm and suitable for swimming and wading, and it's popular with local families and joggers along the foreshore. Formal parking is available nearby, and the Carrum Surf Life Saving Club has served the community here since 1925.
