Hope Beach is a wild, 5 km sweep of coastline on the South Arm peninsula, about 30 minutes south of Hobart, stretching from Cape Direction to Goats Bluff. Backed by some of Tasmania's largest coastal sand dunes, the beach faces the open Southern Ocean and is exposed to swell and strong winds — making it a dramatic landscape for walking and surf fishing rather than safe swimming. The Goat Bluff Lookout provides a dramatic vantage point and trail access for bushwalkers.
