📖 About Yaroomba Beach

Yaroomba Beach is a long stretch of golden sand on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, sitting between Point Arkwright and Marcoola about 116 km north of Brisbane — its name comes from the Kabi language word meaning "surf on the beach." The beach delivers consistent surf breaks and a laid-back atmosphere that feels calmer than neighbouring Coolum, making it popular with surfers, walkers and anyone seeking a quieter slice of the coast. After heavy rain and high tides, timbers from the 1862 shipwreck Kirkdale occasionally surface on the foreshore, adding a dash of maritime history to beach walks.
